"Roll Out the Barrels!"
For the Philadelphia Fringe Festival
Members of Philadelphia Sculptors rolled out sculptural barrels for last year's Philadelphia Fringe Festival in Old City. On Saturday, September 18th and Saturday September 25th 1999, performances were held at Christ Church alley.
"Barreling Art" bumped and rolled across the
cobblestone alley next to Christ's Church. Transformed cardboard barrels
and their creators were the stars of a zany performance choreographed
by Ariel Weiss Holyst, with Jessica Dellecave. Percussionist Toshi Makihara
provided musical accompaniment. |
| Sculptors Knox Cummin, Roberta Fallon, Fran Gallun, Tom Gasiewski, Leslie Kaufman, Peter Kinney, Lucartha Kohler, Elizabeth McCue, Libby Rosof, Jeff Waring, and Dina Wind presented new visions for old barrels. |
Between performances, the barrels made their temporary homes outside Old City galleries. If you kicked yourself for missing our performances for the last two years, look for us at Fringe 2000. |
