The 1st exhibition of "Destination Philadelphia," Philadelphia Sculptors'
spring/summer exhibition series opened on April 16, with the opening reception
on Saturday, April 22 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., featuring musical entertainment
by John Francis Maher and Patrick John Green. The show remains on exhibit
through May 18.

Curated by Susan M. Davis, Director of the Fine Arts Program of the Redevelopment
Authority of the City of Philadelphia, this group show of Philadelphia
Sculptors' members presents a wide range of contemporary approaches to
sculpture.

Those appreciating figurative work will gravitate towards the works of
Arlene Borow and Marilyn Simon, while those attracted to abstraction will
find much worthy of contemplation in works such as Barry Parker's bronze
"Brother Osisris" and Won Jung Choi's "Kneeling Woman." Warren Angle's
"Cloakroom," a visceral tableau including a coat rack and deer heads with
coat hooks attached to them, offers a thought-provoking reflection on
our relationship to the natural world.

Other artists included in the show are Ava Blitz, Ann Chahbandour, Knox
Cummin, Pat Goodrich, Paul Hubbard, Laura Hutton, Leslie Kaufman, Yukie
Kobayashi, Lucartha Kohler, James Lloyd, Carole Sivin and Roy Wilson.

Sharing the venue are the most recent installations of the Artfronts program.
Works by partners Suzanne Reese Horvitz and Robert Roesch, Jeanne Jaffe,
Andrew Jevremovic, and Ron Klein, assert their presence in the four windows
on Market Street.

Reading Terminal HeadHouse, situated on the north side of Market Street
between 11th and 12th Streets in Philadelphia, can be entered from Market
Street under the "Pennsylvania Convention Center" arched sign.
