Artist Statement
"I have always been
fascinated by the concepts of interior and exterior narrative landscapes.
My work reflects both the environments we share with others, and the more
private, inner worlds only accessible through special entrances. Sometimes
I provide windows, and other times hands point the way. I am interested
in memory, the moment, and the glimpse of what could be."
"I frequently work with wood because it contains so many of its own
stories, and holds within it a multitude of layers. I explore other media,
including construction materials, when I want to emphasize the structural
aspects of the sculpture."
"I always look to find alternative uses for materials that allow
them to escape from their predicted fates and instead become transformed
into unique art forms."
