Emily Elliott

I want to make pictures that let me feel massively enveloping, stretched, as if I could be the embodiment of bleary sky. I want to hold tremendous fields of stars in my chest, filled to near bursting. As my work begins with my observation and consideration of sky and space, I’ve developed a great sense of parallel between my states of feeling and the conditions of the sky. My work strives to mimic these conditions of emotion bonded to atmospheric spectacle. While many of my works are small and quiet in nature, I hope for them to feel vast and ephemeral though simultaneously held inside one’s own body.
