Artist Statement:

Drawing from his experience as an architect and digital artist, David Beker’s three-dimensional projects exist in a space between functional furniture and architectural sculpture. These projects draw inspiration from the deep cultural meaning of recognizable objects. The objects are combined and arranged to create a new composition that challenges the understanding of the object’s original meaning.

Bio:

David Beker is an architect, craftsperson and artist. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design and a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, with undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park. He currently resides in Philadelphia, PA.
