From the President
As we start a new year, I admit to worrying that 2025 will have us reliving a darker version of 2017. There is no doubt that our country is becoming more polarized than ever, making it hard to see a path forward. That is what I have been thinking but the other day I had an experience that helped me regain somewhat of a sense of balance. It wasn’t a big event, just something very mundane. I was standing in a long line at PennDot and I was surrounded by an incredibly diverse crowd of fellow Philadelphians from all walks of life. No one wanted to be waiting there, yet everyone was polite and even friendly. At one point I dropped my driver’s license on the floor, and two or three people immediately turned to me to let me know. Nothing much really happened, but my attitude shifted. We were all in this together. And we are all in this together.
