Perky Cohen


Perky Cohen resides in Montgomery County. She serves as a volunteer in both the arts and humanities. Perky was one of the founding members of ArtForms Gallery Manayunk. Presently, she is an active member of MCGOPA (Montgomery County Guild of Professional Artists). She is on the board of ACX (Artist Culture Exchange) where she serves as head of exhibitions. She is also the director of the Rydal Park Art Gallery.

She’s a Temple University graduate with many courses at the Tyler Campus. Erna Stenzler, was her mentor. She also studied with Leon Sitarchik, Joseph Greenberg and John Meehan.

Perky had one-person shows at Woodmere Art Museum, Levering Gallery and ArtForms Gallery. She has been invited into juried shows at Washington Square Art Museum, Abington Art Center, Donnekers Gallery, Cheltenham Center for the Arts and the Noyes Museum. Fine Arts People Gallery had her sculptures on permanent display. One of her sculptures was featured on Fox TV and described by Art Matters editor as his personal favorite.

She and her son were featured in the Inquirer and made national TV news when they collaborated making a life-size bread sculpture. Perky has won many awards for her sculptures.
