Phoebe Grace
Phoebe Grace is a Philadelphia-based sculptor making social, interactive work in public spaces. Predominantly working outside of traditional gallery settings, she engages with viewers in their own spaces and on their own terms in ways that are both humorous and emotionally powerful. Phoebe has installed large public sculptures on and inside of buildings at Bennington College, where she received her BA in 2019, and has installed her work with and without permission in grocery stores, public pools, tennis courts, parks, and playgrounds. She has worked with gallery spaces and community arts programs, including the Mt Airy Art Garage in Philadelphia, Marc Straus Gallery in New York City, Creative Growth Art Center in Oakland, and assisted sculptors including Jeanne Silverthorne and Shelley Spector in the production and handling of their work. She has exhibited work in group shows in Brooklyn, New York and Bennington, Vermont.
