Margery Amdur
Celestial Outreach
331 South Street
Margery Amdur embraces symbolism, metaphor, and abstraction to craft elaborate patterns akin to garments worn on the body, which dissolve into a perpetual dance between consciousness and unconsciousness. The hands, stand-ins for the female body, are statuesque, voluptuous, and bold. Embellished with ornate accoutrements, these pillars of strength and resilience, mysterious in nature, reside within an otherworldly atmosphere.
Suzanne Reese Horvitz
Search for Self
407 South Street
Suzanne Reese Horvitz’s artistic exploration of the "Search for Self," employs symbols such as sirens to represent women's yearning for freedom, mirrors for self-discovery, high heel shoes for empowerment, and four-sided pyramids as symbols of equality, and the journey to the top.
Virginia Maksymowicz
Pillars of Grace
28 North 3rd Street
Virginia Maksymowicz’s window considers the resilience and strength of the female figure in architecture by using the imagery of caryatids, who appear effortless in their supportive roles.
Meg Saligman
Continuum
27 N. 3rd Street
Meg Saligman's diptych illuminates the female form: a journey through her life’s continuum with periods of standing still, phases of great motion, plus pockets of shared experience and creation.
Heather Ujiie
Polarity
322 South Street
Heather Ujiie’s crystal & fiber installation speaks to the cycles of life and death in the mystical realm of the female psyche.
